HB2584
Arizona Nonemergency Medical Transportation Reimbursement Study
Date of Vote: February 27, 2025
Chamber of Origin: HouseHouse Bill 2584 proposes a comprehensive study to evaluate the reimbursement rates for nonemergency medical transportation provided to members of the Arizona health care cost containment system. The Arizona health care cost containment system may receive funding from transportation providers to cover the costs of this study. An independent consulting firm will be contracted to assess the costs associated with providing these services, including programmatic, administrative, and technology costs. The study aims to ensure that reimbursement rates are adequate for both rural and urban transportation providers. Results will be reported to the joint legislative budget committee and incorporated into future capitation rate requests.1
